LEPABE team awarded in the BIP PROOF Programme
Posted on December 14th, 2023
LEPABE Researchers, Dr. Cláudio Rocha, Prof. Luís Miguel Madeira, Dr. Miguel Soria and PhD student Pedro Cerqueira were awarded in the 6th edition of the Business Ignition Program (BIP) PROOF (2023/2024), promoted by U. Porto Inovação, with the project “HydroAzeite: valorisation of wastewater from olive oils mills”. This program aims to support proof-of concept projects to stimulate the achievement of valuable steps leading to the valorisation of promising research results.
The main objective of project HydroAzeite is to “optimize and apply a multifunctional hybrid reactor that combines the wastewater reforming reaction and the simultaneous removal of CO2 (reaction product) in a single device through a CO2-selective adsorbent”, something never done before at industrial level. In the researchers' opinion, using this method will bring numerous advantages to companies, in addition to being able to generate a new source of profit due to the production of H2 biofuel.
Congratulations!
