The U.Porto community is invited for an alumni gathering in Singapure on 6 December, between 7pm and 10pm. The event will take place at “The University Club | PrivéGrill”, located at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The Portuguese Ambassador Luis Lorvão will give us the honour of his presence.

The occasion will be brightened up by a brief speech by Asger Daugbjerg, Director of International Management Education (IME), a Danish Foundation focused on Business Management Education, which annually performs two Mini MBA programs in Singapore (in a very dynamic and innovative format).

Since 2016, six alumni gatherings were organized in Singapure by Nuno Lago de Carvalho, FEUP Alumni Ambassador. In two of these events there was a close collaboration with alumni from the Faculty of Economics (FEP). This next event will be a step further by expanding the participation to the whole U.Porto community.

The idea was launched by Nuno Lago de Carvalho and immediately received the support from the U.Porto Alumni Office. “According to LinkedIn, there are currently more than 50 former U.Porto students in Singapure, what surprised me and motivated me to develop the idea of organizing this event open to other U.Porto alumni”, states Nuno Lago de Carvalho.

The main goal of the gathering is, as always, to facilitate the networking among the participants and spend a good time together, since indeed something very strong brings them closer: a common alma mater.

Encontro Alumni U.Porto em Singapura

Realiza-se no próximo dia 6 de dezembro, entre as 19h e as 22h, um encontro direcionado a todos os alumni da U.Porto em Singapura que terá lugar no “The University Club | PrivéGrill” da National University of Singapore (NUS). O Embaixador de Portugal em Singapura, Luís Lorvão, dar-nos-á a honra da sua presença.

Destaque para a intervenção de Asger Daugbjerg, Diretor da International Management Education (IME), uma fundação Dinamarquesa de foco na formação especializada em Business Management e que realiza anualmente dois programas de Mini MBA em Singapura (num formato muito dinâmico e inovador).

Desde 2016 realizaram-se 6 encontros alumni FEUP em Singapura, organizados pelo Embaixador Alumni Nuno Lago de Carvalho. Em dois dos últimos encontros a participação abrangeu a comunidade alumni da Faculdade de Economia, sendo o objetivo agora o de alargar a participação a toda a comunidade da U.Porto.

A ideia partiu do Nuno Lago de Carvalho e foi muito bem recebida por parte do Gabinete Alumni da U.Porto, que em conjunto com a FEUP, está a dar todo o apoio ao nível da divulgação. “Segundo dados do LinkedIn são mais de 50 os antigos estudantes da UP atualmente presentes em Singapura, o que me deixou surpreendido e motivou o desenvolvimento da ideia de encontro alumni FEUP com o convite a todos os Alumni UP”, reforça o Embaixador Alumni FEUP.

O objetivo do encontro é, como sempre, potenciar o networking entre os participantes, que estão convidados a levar também as suas caras-metade, e passar bons momentos juntos, pois não há dúvida de que algo de muito forte os une: uma alma mater comum.
