Security Guards

FEUP surveillance service works 24hours a day. The Security guard take a leading role in case of emergency, ensuring the service, at any time, through the internal emergency numbers:

• #115, through FEUP internal extension, or
  
• +351 912 233 377, from any phone or mobile phone.

The Security guard, as members of the internal emergency structure, must:

• Receive emergency notifications/Detect alarms;
  
• Confirm the alarms, cancel false alarms, and transmit alarms to the Safety Delegate;
  
• Contact the Rescuers and / or request external support according with the instructions given by the Safety Delegate;
  
• Coordinate the external support access;
  
• Provide support to the Security Team and/ or External entities, facilitating the access to the master keys of the buildings;
  
• Switch off the elevators in case of fire;
  
• Control the access of people and vehicles in the affected area;
  
• Protect essential goods which may be at risk due to the emergency situation.

Security guards have a deep knowledge of FEUP premises - know all the spaces, the location of firefighting equipment, plant of the buildings, gas shut-off valves, the electrical panels, water shortages, among others.
