Note: Provisional information; awaiting approval.
1 – The following may request the change of institution/course pairing:
a) Students who have been enrolled and registered in another institution/course pairing but have not graduated;
b) Students who have done the secondary school national examinations that correspond to the entrance examinations required for that specific pairing, in that year, within the general access regime;
c) Students who have obtained in those examinations at least the minimum grade required by FEUP, in that year, within the general access regime.
2 – The change of institution/course pairing regime also applies to students who have been enrolled and registered in a foreign higher education institution, in a cycle of studies recognised as higher education by the laws of that country, and have not graduated.
3 – The change of institution/course pairing is not allowed from a vocational senior technician course, or foreign course at a corresponding level, to bachelor degree cycles of studies.
The following may also request the change of institution/course pairing:
- Students who hold a foreign secondary education certificate that is legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, with similar examinations (application of Article 20-A of Decree-Law No. 296-A/98, of September 25th, as amended by Decree-Law No. 90/2008, of May 30th, of Resolution No. 530/2023, of May 22nd).
- Applicants who have been admitted to higher education by means of the special examinations designed to assess the ability to attend higher education of those over 23 years old, governed by Decree-Law No. 64/2006, of March 21st, amended by Decree-Law No. 113/2014, of July 16th.
- Applicants who have been admitted to higher education for holding a technological specialization certificate.
- Applicants who have been admitted to higher education for holding a vocational senior technician certificate.
- International applicants who were admitted to higher education via the special contest for international students (see Note 3 below).
Notes:
1 – Change of institution/course pairing is the act by which a student enrols and/or registers in an institution/course pairing different from the one(s) in which they were registered in previous academic years.
2 – The change of institution/course pairing can take place regardless of whether there has been an interruption of enrolment and registration in a higher education institution.
3 - International students are those indicated in Article 3 of Decree-Law No. 62/2018, of August 6th, and in Article 1 of the Regulation No. 664/2018, of October 16th - Implementing regulation of the international student status at the University of Porto.

Request of credit transfer is mandatory for this admission regime. If you are admitted and have not made a request for credit transfer during the application process, you will necessarily have to make the request upon enrolment.
