Description:	The M.EMAT aims to educate graduates for professional careers in any area of Materials Engineering. To achieve this objective, M.EMAT provides advanced education in materials engineering, treating the complete life cycle of materials, with two specialisations: a more generalised education in materials and another in metallurgy. M.EMAT offers a background in materials science and technology, focusing on product design, processing technologies and characterisation techniques, addressing all classes of materials in the specialisation on materials and, more specifically, metallic materials in the case of the specialisation in metallurgy. This is complemented with education in management and interdisciplinary competencies, a factor of recognised importance in the business world. The intention is to maintain the strong connection with the business community, supporting the completion, in the last semester of the SC, of a dissertation in companies in the area of Materials Engineering.
