Objectives

Develop and apply work methodologies in an industrial environment. It is intended that the student develops transversal skills that start with the search for a short-term industrial-based internship until the development of the project in that environment.

Learning outcomes and competences

The successful attendance of this course will allow students to acquire skills to:
-Implement a research project in an industrial environment.
-Effectively apply advanced engineering knowledge regarding the operation and design of process units in biological systems.
-Adopt individual and group work strategies to promote the development of initiative, decision making and creative and critical thinking skills.

Development of a project in an industrial environment, whose basic information will be obtained through the implementation of tasks in terms of production, in the laboratory, data collection and processing, information search for technological innovation, according to the company's area of intervention.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Presentation and discussion of proposals for work topics to be developed in an industrial environment. Each work topic/project is accompanied by an academic supervisor and another in the company. Students will deliver a report at the end and will make a presentation and defense of the work to the person responsible for the course.

(1) Work Monitoring: Quality, Commitment, Autonomy (50%);
(2) Report: Organisation, Scientific Content (30%);
(3) Presentation/ Oral discussion: Clarity, Relevance, Defence arguments (20%).
