This service promotes interaction between FEUP and companies for collaborative work, organizing meetings, visits to companies’ facilities and also visits to FEUP’s premises.

A range of activities are also being developed with the aim of facilitating links between academia, the productive sector, investors and consultants, among others. Businesses and other partner institutions of FEUP are often invited to take part in events organized by the Faculty or in group events where it is an active participant. These initiatives are an excellent opportunity to learn new approaches and new paradigms, fostering new partnerships.

An example of this work is the Business & Innovation Network - BIN@TM, an initiative whose goal is to develop a sustainable international innovation network involving partners from across industry, academia, science and technology parks, incubators, investors, advisors and economic development agencies, among others, sharing knowledge and best practices based on open innovation. It further aims to develop a forum for interdisciplinary discussion that integrates several technological sectors in order to create opportunities for collaboration and cooperation and thus support the development of partnerships that can have a real value-added impact.
