TheProcessFolder” Project, developed within the LGP initiative - “Linking Great Partners”.

The collaboration between PRIMAVERA and FEUP began some years ago (2007) and since then the two institutions have been drawing steadily closer together.

PRIMAVERA has participated in three editions of LGP, along with other joint initiatives with FEUP (for example, making PRIMAVERA software available for educational purposes).

At the edition of 2011-2012 it was suggested to students that they create a software program which would allow users to intervene in business processes. The result is TheProcessFolder, which has produced great results and fulfilled its aims of ensuring that different applications are integrated, including ERP solutions, and that there is available access for any device connected to the Internet.

What we have learned from participation in this and earlier editions of LGP is that:

• Most of the results from LGP may be converted into profitable products. Students have demonstrated their ability to develop products that are more than mere applications;
• LGP promotes entrepreneurship, which is essential both from the perspective of creating new businesses, and from the perspective of internal entrepreneurship;
• The way that the LGP initiative is organized in such a dynamic and constantly innovative way has helped to make it appealing and continually challenging;
• Projects developed have always been relevant to our business, especially from the perspective of proof-of-concept ideas and technical solutions; one case has even ‘provoked’ development of a new product.

As a software producer, PRIMAVERA thus seeks to create opportunities to incorporate FEUP graduates into its cadre of professionals, recognizing their reputed value.
