About the pages

This pages were designed to comply with official web design standards and will work in any web browser that is also designed to comply with those standards:

  • Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) 4.01 Transitional according to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications;
  • Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Level 2 according to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications;
  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WAI) Priority 1, 2 and 3, according to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications;

Logo

The FEUP's logo gives access to SiFEUP's main page.

Top Buttons

Connects to the english translation of the current page. If there's no translation, the icon looks faded.

Gives access to the "text version" of the pages. If there's no text version, the icon looks faded.

Shows the contextual help for the current page (what's the meaning of the form fields, options, etc). If the contextual help is not available, the icon looks faded.

Opens the page where you can make the SiFEUP's authentication (note that you can do the same using the authentication window on the left side of the screen). If, for some reason, the authentication is not available, the icon looks faded.

If you're authenticated, you can end your session clicking this icon. If, for some reason, the logout is not available, the icon looks faded.

Spotlight

The spotlight gives access to special news - considered to be relevant to the FEUP's community - being always available on the pages. It's dynamic information and because of that, the period of time that the news stays in the spotlight area depends of the importance and expiration date. The spotlight news changes between them.

"You are in:" Area

The "You are in:" area contextualizes the information displayed on the general architecture of the pages. This permits the user to see how the information is tructured and perform backward steps through the levels that conducted to the specific location. Note that it's not an history bar. It's a location bar on the tree of pages.

Main Menu

Placed on the left side of all pages gives access to the main areas of the site.

Authentication Window

You can authenticate your user through this window. Insert your user name and password. Next, click the "Login" button.

After the authentication, you can abandon your session clicking the "Logout" button.

Campus Map

You can visually identify the FEUP's Campus. Clicking on a represented building, you will be conducted to a page where you can see more information about it.

Options Menu

Gives access to the current page functionalities.

Copyright Information

Copyright message of the institution responsible for the Information System.

Last Update Date

Present if applicable to the current data displayed.

Content

The area reserved to information of each page is in the center.
