The Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction (CONSTRUCT) focuses its research on three main areas: Sustainable Construction, Infrastructure, and Buildings.
In this context, the Unit's scientific activity is developed across the following Thematic Lines:
TL1 - New construction materials. Recycling and valorisation (PIs: Castorina Vieira & Carlos Sousa)
TL2 - Structural performance and heritage preservation (PIs: Abel Henriques & Miguel Castro)
TL3 - Building(s) for future generations (PIs: Eva Barreira & João Poças Martins)
TL4 - Transport and renewable energy infrastructures (PIs: Pedro Costa & Carlos Moutinho)
TL2 - Structural performance and heritage preservation (PIs: Abel Henriques & Miguel Castro)
TL3 - Building(s) for future generations (PIs: Eva Barreira & João Poças Martins)
TL4 - Transport and renewable energy infrastructures (PIs: Pedro Costa & Carlos Moutinho)
Grounded in the expertise and scientific knowledge acquired over the years by CONSTRUCT’s seven Research Groups, these Thematic Lines aim to provide an integrated response to the current challenges of Civil Engineering and Horizon Europe - challenges that typically demand cross-disciplinary skills. The contributions of each research group toward these Thematic Lines are summarized in the table below:
