Seminars and Individual topics

Seminars and Individual Topics are two courses aiming to give the PhD student:

  • an introduction to research methodologies;
  • opportunities to attend lectures on different research topics;
  • awareness of the research developments in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering;
  • start planning the PhD thesis and preliminary development of his/her research work.

A supervisor is assigned to each student by the Scientific Committe and must define the scope of the work to be done by the student.

The research work developed in
Individual Topic must lead to the preparation of the Thesis Research Plan to be submitted by the student upon completion of the courses.

In order to reinforce student scientific background, whenever judged necessary a supervisor may advise the student to take a specific elective course, instead of attending Seminars
.
